“Retrofuturismo” is the new EP by Colombian-Spanish singer-songwriter Oliva, with seven songs that immerse the audience in a whirlwind of sounds and emotions, ranging from pleasure to heartbreak and from sadness to joy.
“Otra vida” is the first single from this record work that is now available on all digital platforms. Here, Oliva combines the sadness of putting an end to a relationship with no return with eternal gratitude and the hope of trying again in the future.
The singer’s fans manage to relive with her lyrics the hard moments of heartbreak and the repetitive thoughts that ask what went wrong, why the flame went out and what we must do to evolve as people.
The official video for “Otra Vida,” directed by Dylan Bolívar and Oliva, explores the elements of Greek Olympus, presenting Oliva as a mythological goddess who evolves from pain to give way to her true self.
“Retrofuturismo” is backed by Sony Music Latin. Oliva fans will find the influences of pop, Disco, R&B and Latin rhythms with an international style that breaks boundaries.
Passionate about art since her childhood, her music has been influenced by genres such as pop, disco, jazz and reggae; She finished her career as an international business administrator, she was part of a jazz ensemble and later consolidated, together with her brother, the duo Irie Kingz.
“Fashion Criminal” is the milestone with which she publicly launched her career in 2020 as a solo artist. This composition pays tribute to fashion and promotes female empowerment, attributes that, along with her voice, caught the attention of Sony Music. To discover her own voice, she explored various sounds, rhythms and after her passage through the island of San Andrés and under the influence of disco music and Latin pop, she managed to shape her project that mixes pop, dance and Afrobeat.
